Service Description

Scapa Flow Wildlife Excursions Discover Orkney’s wildlife, sweeping scenery, and rich history on a relaxed 3.5 - 4‑hour Scapa Flow excursion aboard Boy Ryan. Each trip offers the chance to see seals, porpoises, seabirds, and—when conditions allow—orcas, all while enjoying the peace and character of Orkney’s waters. Guests are welcomed with hot and cold drinks, mince rolls, toasties, and homemade soup, with a small selection of drinks available. You can also pre‑book our A Taste of Island Life experience: BBQ scallops and lobster cooked onboard, served with wine and local produce such as bere bannocks, Orkney cheese, and oatcakes—a true from the sea to your plate experience. There is an excellent bus service from Stromness and Kirkwall to St Margaret’s Hope Ferry Terminal, where we depart. Check Stromness Travel & Kirkwall Travel Centre for times. Minimum of 6 guests required. If numbers aren’t met, we’ll offer to reschedule or provide a full refund.
